WILL YOU HELP US?

Leading the way

People all over the world are beginning to experience in their daily lives the consequences of human activities that damage the earth. At the Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Sciences we are discovering an exciting opportunity to introduce Islam as a complete solution to the environmental catastrophe which is staring mankind in the face.

Corruption has spread far and wide over
land and sea consequent upon the activities
of humankind. Allah therefore is giving them
the taste of their own actions as a means of
their finding a way back to Him

Al Qur'an: Rum 30:41

Any questions?
"An environmental group based on Islamic principles and run by Muslims sounds like a good idea - but isn't this global crisis a short term matter?"

No sadly not. Scientists believe that damage to the earth's fragile Eco-system, vital to the future of life on this planet, is long-term and, in some instances, permanent. The human race has never before faced a problem like this. It affects every single human being living today and all those yet to be born. It is also true to say that everyone can play their part in changing things for the better.

"What is the scope of IFEES?"
IFEES, by drawing the attention of Muslims to the environmental problems which are threatening our planet, and by setting up programmes of education and action, believes it is still possible to achieve positive results. IFEES now has contacts in over 40 countries. Other environmental organisations, UN agencies, grassroots groups, mosques, schools, universities and committed individuals worldwide are among those who have found IFEES services invaluable and indeed unique.

"What are IFEES plans for the future?"
Our greatest priority is to establish a multi-purpose centre in this country to act as a focal point for IFEES activities. Academic research and informative publications would be produced along with practical training courses in land resource management and the use of environment friendly technology. We are also setting up a database to facilitate communication and information exchange between experts and activists. We will continue our regular involvement with journals and broadcast media.

As individuals we often feel powerless to tackle issues as vast as global catastrophes and environmental disasters. But by working together ordinary people CAN make a difference. As Muslims we have in our hands the best solution to the problems that are threatening our planet and we have much to gain by sharing it with the rest of the human community.

If anyone has a palm shoot in his hand
on the last day he should plant it
